Simon Hurry

Simon helps individuals, teams and organisations gain clarity about who they are, what they want and how best to achieve their goals efficiently and accurately. He helps people clarify what they want, identify how they can get it and ensure that they are empowered to perform optimally. When people understand the extent that their decisions (and corresponding actions) are impacted by their intrinsic nature, they can then make more conscious, productive decisions. Aligning instinctive nature to both the conscious decision making process and to performance metrics, then ensures that goals can be achieved each and every time. This ensures that success moves from a “random” event to one that is carefully planned and executed.”

Simon has worked with Johannesburg Stock Exchange, StandardBank Wealth, Discovery, Barclays, PSG, MTV Africa, McKinsey Consulting, Stellenbosch Football Club, Blue Bulls SuperRugby.

Tracy Phillips

Tracy has passion for helping unlock your innate strengths to build and sustain high performance. To put it simply, trying to fix weaknesses is far less powerful and impactful than understanding what you naturally do best and building those talents to drive success.
Tracy has a BA in Psychology from Arizona State University and an MA in Labour and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University. She has been a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach for 15+ years, has a CIPD Level 7 Coaching and Mentoring Qualification from CIPD, and is a member of the International Coaching Federation.
Tracy spent six years at Accenture, working in Human Performance. Following Accenture, Tracy joined Microsoft as a global Learning and Development consultant, where she spent 10 years building and managing the strategy and implementation of Microsoft L&D initiatives.

Q&A

1. Why team work matters to you?

Tracy: It is very simply where I get my energy…collaborating and being part of a (strong team) allows me to bring my best self to my work.

Simon: It is one thing to know that you have done your best and achieved, but it is another to experience the lofty heights of achievement that you know you could not have achieved without teaming up with someone else.

2. Your most inspiring team?

Tracy: I was lucky enough to work on a team where everything came together….we were doing exciting work that mattered, everyone was dedicated and supportive of each other. Everyone was pulling in the same direction. It felt amazing! I often think back to what environment the leader created and what specific actions she took to when I am working with clients.

Simon: Sports team: World Cup winning Springbok Rugby Side

3. A philosophy that you live by?

Tracy: Everywhere you go, always take the weather with you. (Crowded House)

Simon: Veritas. Vertus. Libertus which is Latin for Truth, Courage and Freedom. My philosophy is simple – know your truth, have the courage to embrace it and you will discover your freedom.
